A fully managed, end-to-end employee benefits programme, delivered by our finance partner Freedom Tech.

Salary sacrifice made simple with big potential savings for employees.

BT is delighted to offer TechPerks - It offers employers a compelling employee engagement proposition, which gives staff the chance to own desirable computing devices and other home electronics products in a really affordable way.

The TechPerks programme works via a salary sacrifice arrangement between the employer and the employee, in which the employee accepts a reduction in their gross pay in return for a non-cash benefit in kind. Buying in this way means employees could make significant savings compared to an outright purchase on the high street1, whilst the monthly payments (usually spread over two years) make the programme even more attractive.

TechPerks case study: Anchor Care Homes Trust

Anchor are the largest not-for-profit provider of care and housing for the over 55s in England. They wanted to launch an online self-service HR solution for their people, but first, had to improve access to internet-ready devices. Anchor chose BT's TechPerks scheme, which helped them drive up device availability and digital inclusion within their team, all without impacting their own business costs. "The programme was easy to set up and promote" says Stephanie Donaldson, Fleet and Benefits Co-ordinator at Anchor Trust. "Colleagues who didn't own a device could obtain one through the TechPerks programme without the high upfront costs of a typical high street purchase. The biggest benefit was paying monthly over two years. Through TechPerks, BT has brought real, tangible added value to our business".

Benefits for Employees

Wide choice of products from lots of big brands

Our TechPerks range includes a wide selection of highly desirable, top quality technology products including tablets, PCs, laptops, smartphones and accessories, plus TVs, games consoles, projectors, cameras and more.

Benefits for the whole family

Because your employees use the technology products they choose at home and can purchase them as gifts, the whole family could share in the benefits of "TechPerks", which can be particularly great for children and their homework needs.

Fast delivery direct to employees' homes

All orders are swiftly delivered directly to your employees' home addresses, so there’s no worries about storage, distribution, or transporting goods home.

An affordable way to buy tech with no credit checks

The business 'bulk buys' the tech taking advantage of economies of scale meaning the overall price is often significantly cheaper1. Costs for employees are then broken down into manageable monthly payments deducted from pay via a ‘salary sacrifice’ arrangement.

Benefits for Employers

Easy to launch with light-touch admin for employers

TechPerks is really easy for employers to roll out, with minimal admin required. Our managed process provides you with a customised ‘portal’ especially for your programme, which manages the full range of technology products on offer to your employees. The order process, all the paperwork and all the deliveries are handled by us – we can even help you prepare your internal marketing to promote the programme if you need it.

Cash flow neutral

TechPerks is a cash flow neutral programme – unlike other employee benefit schemes, we don’t ask the employer for money upfront to cover the costs of the employees' benefit. Although the employer technically owns the goods, payments are spread in line with monthly deductions made from employees' salaries, so there's no negative impact on cash flow. This means the cash for your business stays where it should – in the business.

Can help with your Digital Inclusion strategy

Digital Inclusion is about improving the UK's overall IT skills and knowledge. The affordability of the TechPerks programme makes IT more accessible for all, which may improve overall computing confidence and boost the general IT skills of your employees.

Sign off and governance for employers

We work collaboratively with employers to ensure you’re happy with the range and affordability of goods on offer to your employees. And once all the orders have been placed and we’ve collated all the paperwork, we await a simple sign-off before we start processing.

Helps improve employee engagement and retention

If you don’t currently offer an employee benefits programme, then TechPerks is a great way to start. Offering your employees the chance to buy the desirable technology they want, but in an affordable way, can really help with overall employee engagement and ultimately, improve employee retention. Got an existing programme? TechPerks can sit alongside your existing programme to make your package of benefits even more compelling. Please note that minimum number of 20 employees is required for a TechPerks programme.

Can complement your Bring Your Own Device ("BYOD") strategy

The TechPerks programme includes devices like laptops, smartphones and tablets. As well as using them at home, your employees could also use their devices in the workplace provided your BYOD policy supports it. This gives people more flexibility in the way they work, which can lead to productivity improvements too.
