Good make can still have gremlins

I have been through many makes of Routers but settled on Draytek for a while now. This time I was let down. The router has worked for about 15 minutes before going into a reboot loop. Shame that this was on a job & now I have more expence than orignally planned.
However, I'm still behind Draytek on their well priced and feature rich routers that generally do not break.

Most people who have had anything to do with ADSL in a business know Draytek. The immediate stop of the 2800 was a shame as after many bugs initially it worked. But you now have the feature rich 2820 with an ADSL load balance/ADSL fail backup and surprisingly it works. I manage over 80 ADSL at work and all have a Drayteks (mostly because there is no one else). If you get one that works first time your lucky. I have never met one that didn’t have a “character”. The 2820 is faster to remote manage, looks just like the 2800. The only bug I have found. Remote users. If the Draytek is your DHCP an IP conflict is created as it won’t allocate the correct ip range, namely above 200 as default. The most recent firmware doesn’t fix the problem. You also have some VPN routing issues for the dial in users. So watch out. Some initially restart and stay off for approx 20mins. But leave it alone, it comes back on and never happens again. Odd! Characters!
