HP Care Pack
What is Care Pack?
It’s a comprehensive warranty on HP hardware, available on all HP products (apart from Thin Clients). You choose the length of cover, from 1-5 years.
Care Pack is available with the following service levels1:
- Pick up and return - the basic level of cover. HP will pick up your hardware, resolve the problem and return the product, usually within 10 days.
- Onsite, next business day – as the name implies, HP will visit you to fix your product on the next business day.
- Cover Upgrades
- Travel Care Pack – an upgraded plan, with cover across the UK and over 80 countries globally
- Defect Media Retention – this upgrade allows for the return of defective hard drives to the you and a replacement item fitted in your device
How long does cover last?
Care Pack cover begins on the date the product is shipped from HP.
Example: Laptop was purchased on 1st April 2019, but was built on 1st February 2019. A 2-year Care Pack should end on 1st February 2021, but the time between purchase and the build+3m date would be added to the end of the Care Pack warranty, so actual end-date would be 1st May 2021
You may purchase a Care Pack when you purchase your product, or within 90 days of the date of purchase2
Post Warranty Plans
Post Warranty Plans provide additional coverage after your base warranty or initial Care Pack expires. Cover begins either immediately after the base warranty expires (if purchased during warranty period) or on the purchase date (if purchased after the base warranty expires) and terminates upon completion of the specified number of years of services purchased, or 5 years after end of service life if earlier.
Post Warranty Plans can be purchased within 90 days before, or up to 30 days after your base warranty expires.

- To be eligible to purchase a Care Pack or Post Warranty Plan, your device must be in good operating condition (in HP’s opinion) and within it’s service life.
