had the previous 5.1 speakers from logitech but were looking there age & decided to upgrade- They pretty much sound the same just a little cleaner I guess, but the sub hit much lower and is roof shakingly good. Everything I hated about my old set had be sorted with these. word or warning the sub has huge magnet in it, and even though manual stated 2 feet from an electrical equipment, my pc was effected from 4-5 feet away

I got these a couple of months ago, deciding to upgrade from having my PC running through the stereo. This speaker set is highly impressive, delivering fantastic sound whether I am watching a DVD, playing a game or listening to music. The sub-woofer delivers excellent bass and the sounds from the speakers are without distortion. There is no perceptible hum or hiss when the speakers are on and no sound is coming through.

If there is a downside, it's perhaps that they're a bit TOO powerful! I've only been brave enough to jack it up halfway, and even that was risking a knock on the wall from the neighbours. This doesn't detract from the fun of them, but it is a bit like having a Ferrari but not being able to go over 70.

Well, I think all the other reviewers may be male and quite capable where IT is concerned. I am female and not an avid gamer, but I found these speakers fairly easy to set up., though I will concede that I did have to resort to a male friend for help at one point, because I couldn’t work out how to get sound out of the speakers. My friend referred me to the input button; this was set to an optical or coaxial setting, rather than the direct setting I needed. Once I had got the settings right for my system, the logic of the rest of the features seemed to click and I now find it easy to operate.

I bought these along with the Terratec Aureaon 5.1 USB sound card and the sound is fab. I think one of the other reviewers said about this perhaps not being great for classical music (and I use these speakers purely for listening to music), but I would beg to differ. The bass is fairly staggering but overall quality is high. I would definitely recommend these speakers.

Well, what got me to buy this product was the fact that my old Creative soundworks speakers had blown and I wanted to get a decent 5.1 system. Was torn between this and the S750 however, when I saw all the issues with the subwoofer blowing I plumped for the logitech.
I read these reviews before buying and they are NOT lying.
The size of the sub is MASSIVE! I was shocked when I opened it up and saw it!! Its a monster!
Setup was fairly straight-forward, just had issues with the different sound settings (which is a great thing since you've got so many options to choose from!)wire length = fantastic!!
I love my music loud but this beast is something else...I'm afraid to pump it up to full!! Just put it on half volume and half subwoofer and thats more than enough!!
Classical music is fine to listen to on this. I shoved on some Ave Maria and it was great!! All round BEST BUY sound system! GET IT!! But be FOREWARNED about the ASBO's you're going to get from disgruntled neighbours!

i was wondering if anybody with this product knows if it has a headphone socket so you can play music from your ipod for example?

Haven't had much of a chance to play around with the settings, but on the standards, it's simply awe inspiring. I can now race glasses across a table. The sub woofer is the biggest I've ever seen, I got the box, Jesus, it's huge. Massive Cone and heatsink as well. Surprised to find these speakers had not come hardwire, which may be an added bonus for some people. You can tell they are THX certified. My housemate tested it with me, and after listening to it from everywhere in the house at half volume, decided noone will like me anymore. But who needs friends when you have these beasts. Gaming performance is a 10/10 easily, as with music and film, make sure the software is truly 5.1 compatible, that may be an issue, i had to turn up the surround full on these speakers, however the hardware decoders easily make up for it. A must buy. Almost worried when deciding between these and the S750's,. but now I can see why these got the better review.

When I got up to open the door I was stunned by the size of this thing! the box is absolutly massive! so big I had to go round back and open the garage as it would not fit through the front door! The first thing I noticed when was the size of the sub woofer! In comparison it is large than your average PC Case! Speaker system and preformance is exceptional! The speaker volume is loud even at level 4 (out of 20? i cant remember) Films and Games top stuff! This is the ultimate sound system! it soo good that I can filter out my room mates music across the hall in both his room and my room!! deffo worth it if you want a top end sound system! wire lenght is great too! never run out of wire!

Could not wait to get these speakers out of the box and was not disappointed.set up is simple and After connecting my laptop,Sky+ and dvd player I found that switching between them was easy and the sound from each.....

Bought this product a couple of months ago so had some proper time to test it out. Firstly … the sub is big, and when I say big I mean it. Make sure u got place for it set out before u buy it. After u got it all set up u realise why it has been promised to be worth the while by so many other customer reviews. Logitech seem to favour bass over actual sound quality so if u planning to listen to classic music all day this might not be the thing for u, that doesn’t mean sound quality is bad of course, just means its comes well second to the bass. Surround sound is excellent and movies are brought to life by this system. The z – 5500 connects to almost any sound producing equipment (pc I pob, e-box est.) which makes this product even more worth the money. If u want entertainment this is the thing to go for.

What an incredible set of speakers! The sound quality is incredible with the surround features in at use in a film being the highlight of this equipment. Try them on a fully THX written DVD (such as the new Star Wars trilogy) and you will hear the cinema like sounds available. The 4/5 Ease of use is due to the slightly fiddly process of wiring up the speakers (manually inserting each basic wire 1 by 1) but otherwise an amazing system!
