Write a review for the Belkin N Wireless Modem Router (BT ADSL) here!
firstly i bought myself a new sony vaio laptop and Dabs deliverd the next working day and the product was amasing, and now again i have brought a new Belkin N Wireless Modem Router + Belkin Network USB Hub package along with a few other pieces and once again Dabs deliverd the goods next working day. The modem router is extreamly easy to set up and the WiFi connection quality and range are amasing. as for the Network Usb Hub, it may as well be Plug and Play, jus install the simple drivers and its good to go. they are both so easy to use. an exilent buy. They really provide an exilent service with a great range of products.
Once again Belkin has kicked out an excellent piece of technology, this is now my third Belkin router and the ease of setup and use is just as good as the rest (even with this being a higher spec device). There is total customisability through the routers control panel (you can setup your internet connection, change your WiFi security and even make it solely a wireless access point) which is a feature you can find hard to get in competing devices. Like all other routers over time the box gets rather warm so I suggest you either mount it on a wall or leave it on a desk (but not on a carpeted floor) to avoid an over heating problem. Finally hats off to Dabs for delivering this in just one day and for beating PC Worlds price by £40 (as of August 2008).
we use 2 laptops at home and sometimes 3 at the same time, and the speed of the net is amazing. i tried a few other brands but belkin is the best. another thing you need to consider, the fact their customer service team is always there to help, fast and efficient.. i am so impressed with their service. totally recommend this product - you won't be facing any problems.
I have had this gateway for a few months now. Compatibility with older WLAN clients is ok but wireless signal strength is poor. The on-board DHCP allows for no assignation of static IPs to MACs so you have to configure each static client manually. There is no support for ICMP and zero on-board statistics so you have no way at all of telling how much data passes between your LAN and your ISP. Worst of all, heavy wireless traffic appears to throttle wireline traffic over the switch. This is the last gateway that I buy. Forthwith, I shall go back to having a separate switch, modem and AP...
