Description
This 3 Port PCMCIA IEEE 1394 FireWire 400 Laptop Adapter Card allows you to connect FireWire/i.LINK devices such as iPods or DV (digital video) camcorders to your laptop computer through a CardBus slot.
Compatible with both PC and Mac laptop computers, the adapter card supports hot-swapping FireWire device connections, allowing you to unplug and swap peripherals with ease.
The adapter card includes a 5ft FireWire cable as well as a copy of ULEAD's VideoStudio SE Basic video editing software, making it easy to capture and edit video on your notebook computer, directly from your digital video camcorder.

do noy buy for use with ipod

I bought this with a view to using it with my Ipod. I soon discovered by mailing techsupport that it is not designed for this.
So i have a card which is useless to me. Do not buy thinking you can use this for charging and syncing an ipod because it is a firewire card of sorts.

This card looks the ticket with 3 ports and a great price and editing software etc, etc....but it actually damaged hundreds of avi files on my external firewire/usb drive. I am returning it for a more expencive make in the hope that a more relaible make will work better. Buyers Beware!!!
