Description
Now you can have a powerful, high-speed network on a small scale. NETGEAR's GS108 Gigabit Ethernet Switch lets you build a system that provides a full, dedicated 1000, 100, or 10 Mbps connection so you can move very large files across your network instantly. The GS108 also lets you painlessly integrate 10, 100, and 1000 Mbps devices. This potent switch is packed with ease-of-use features to simplify your workday experience. Its compact design fits neatly into small workspaces and, since it's self-cooling without a fan, it runs silently and unobtrusively.
NETGEAR's GS108 Gigabit Ethernet Switch moves huge files fast! It features a high-speed, auto-switching 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet connection. And because Copper Gigabit Ethernet is a full duplex standard, you can get up to 2000 Mbps on each port.
NETGEAR's GS108 Gigabit Ethernet Switch integrates 10, 100, and 1000 Mbps devices on the same network. Every port automatically senses the right speed and full/half duplex mode, while Auto Uplink technology automatically adjusts for straight-through or crossover cables.
LEDs embedded in each of the 8 RJ-45 jacks make for easy monitoring. Space-saving dimensions are ideal for desktop or wall mounting in home and small office environments. And it runs quietly, self-cooling without an internal fan.

And then we all fell down...

Dabs delivered as usual - however now my little GS108UK has taken to flashing every single port (both LEDs) if I have ANYTHING hooked in that it doesn't like or is set to auto-negotiate up to Gigabit. I fear it may be on it's last legs but I'm fortunate that I bought it over 2 years ago (or so it seems).

Great, but flashing lights of death
Reviewed by Peter. Review Posted 09/11/2008
Had the GS108 for a couple of years now, flawless to install and route my network (Netgear DG834, HP m/f printer, desktop, Buffalo linkstation and 3 laptops). I too am now experiencing the flashing lights of death, started off as occasional 'Network Cable Unplugged' prompts, now flashes all the LEDs with more than 3 items connected. Thanks for the Prosafe lifetime warranty note hopefully save me buying a replacement.

Faultless for exactly 15 months, then died

Yes - mine died too - just engaging the support to see if I can get a replacement. Power supply seems to be overcooking it a bit (16v instead of 12v)
