cheap ...NOT cheerful
Reviewed by robert. Review Posted 09/02/2011

[nitty gritty] Using a W7 x64 Ultimate OS kit the eyeballed throughput was an errorsome 48MB/s compared to an error-free co-located eSATA connection's 75MB/s that can't be right. Errorsome!? Well, this USB3 card hasn't managed to properly complete a single backup/verify test backup run (Acronis) yet to my Drobo S 5bay USB3 HDD cage. Drivers (Renesas Electonics)...? No updates readily apparent on their site. Bundled cable at only 30" was inadequate.

[packaging] Internal box too big for cover sleeve, has to be ripped apart to remove contents.

[wysiwyg?] No. The USB3 card (the actual printed circuit board) bares little resemblence to portrayed image - power connector is NOT a round pin molex but a square pin header block.

[manual] A single folded sheet 4"x6" - little detail - tiny font. PC instructions simply don't relate to contents of 2" CD.

[conclusion] Bluntly? ...the pits. Not good BTs:-/
