This unit provides a minimum of one hour power back-up when used with your Digital Voice home phone.
Is this the right Battery backup unit for you?
If your Smart Hub / Router is connected to a mains powered Openreach Modem ONT (Optical Network Terminal) choose the Fibre / FTTP variant Mfr#: 097284, you will receive two units, one for the Openreach Modem (ONT) and the other for the Smart Hub. Cables for both SH2 & SH3 are included and clearly labelled.
FAQ
Question 1: Will my Internet access be maintained along with my voice service? Answer : Yes
Question 2: Will the unit support other BT/EE Hubs? Answer 2: The default unit will support BT Smart Hub 2 (SH2), EE Smart Hub (SH2) and EE Smart Hub Plus (SH3). You can easily identify which version you have as the Hub type is shown on the product label. Please note this unit will not support other hubs supplied by BT or routers supplied by alternative vendors.
Question 3: Will a phone connected to the Phone port on the back of the Smart Hub 2 continue to work? Answer 3: The Phone will work as long as it does not rely on mains power itself.
Question 4: Will a Phone connected to a Digital Voice Adaptor continue to work? Answer 4: No as the Digital Voice Adaptor requires mains power.
Notes
Please note this unit will not support other hubs types supplied by BT or routers supplied by alternative vendors. Digital voice handsets supplied with the service, or a non-powered phones connected to the phone port on the Hub will continue to work. You can easily identify if your Broadband service is Full Fibre, as your Smart Hub / Router is connected to a mains powered Openreach ONT. If this is not the case then customers should purchase the Master Socket version. The Battery Back-up unit contains a battery and customers should be aware that this will need replacing periodically.
