Write a review for the NETGEAR 8-Port 10/100/1000 Mbps Switch here!
Again, per other reviews, very good until death at 18 months, will try the returns process, but need another new one ASAP!
PLAINLY a wee problem with these, as it just died overnight. Will still buy another, but will have a spare in the wings for sure.
Perfect, plug stuff in and it works as you'd expect. Sadly it seems they aren't designed to last (do a search) - Had mine 15 months and now it's only good as an Xmas decoration with flashing lights regardless of whats connected. Others report it's down to bad capacitors and if your good with an iron can repair it. I wouldn't recommend it unless you only want them just long enough for the warrently to expire :( Shame.
I bought two for work six months ago, one failed and Netgear replaced with older larger model. When they are working they are good but my experience would suggest keep the purchase details and don't expect like for like replacement.
The replacement works but is larger, more like the image used than the small device first delivered.
Excellent switches, but sadly I've now had 3 out of 3 died with the blinking lights of death. 1 after about 2 years, bought another to replace it and that didn't work from the outset, then my third died this week after 18months. Noticed several others with the same problem - all lights blink when you plug several cables in. Am off to investigate returns now as I didn't know about the lifetime warranty!
Blinking lights of death after a year here too.
Disappointing since my last Netgear (FS108) is a decade old and still going strong.
My GS108T has just failed again - I'm currently going through the 'lifetime warranty' procedure again. I've always recommended Netgear products in the past, and have supplied loads of them (about 30 in all) to customers in the past - but maybe it's time to try another vendor??
It has lasted a little over a year but dies last night. I came in to see all the 100m lights blinking in unison and none of my PCs could see the network. Luckily I had another spare but will be buying another brand next time.
And it is now dead, as so many others??
also lasted almost *exactly* 15 months before dying from SFLS (shiny flashy lights syndrome)
time to test out the lifetime warranty then.....
