Write a review for the D-Link USB 2.0 4-Port Hub here!
It worked for 6 months, and then after redecorating the study and putting everything back together I made the fatal mistake of connecting it to the wrong power supply - exactly the same connector, but 12V and not the 5V it actually needs. Death. I won't be buying supporting D-Link again. Surely, there should be unique connector types of 5V and 12V..? But that would be too simple? Maybe it isn't so anal to label leads after all?
I bought this for my laptop, January 2008 when I realised that 4 ports wasn't enough.
It has worked quite happily, it must be said, up until now. The only problem I ever had was that some devices simply wouldn't connect to Windows correctly, though they appeared to be powered. These things included hard drives, a scanner, a software dongle and a controller keyboard.
Currently, one port has ceased to function.
This product is great for me in XP, but having just upgraded to Vista its taken a serious dislike to it. The machine hangs for 60 seconds at a time and has been wiped and rebuilt 3 times now to finally find it was the hub and not the items plugged in to it that were at fault.
Be careful if using this with Vista.
