StarTech.com Video Switching and Wall Control App Now Available

Remotely control the StarTech.com ST12MHDLANRX HDMI® Over IP Extenders using an iPad or iPhone. The main functionality is to switch video sources or create and control a video wall.

Video walls have become extremely popular in the digital signage space. StarTech.com realized we have the hardware / products to build video walls but we didn’t have a user interface for our customers to setup and control them. The Video Switching and Wall Control app provides an easy-to-use interface to customize digital signage solutions for businesses and organizations. The display of content can be controlled from anywhere on the same network for any video source to any video receiver connected to an IP network. Switching and control become very important when using multiple sources or need to display different content depending on the target audience or time of day.

• The app searches and detects video devices connected to the same network as the HDMI over IP source and display devices
• Name each source or display to quickly identify each device on the network
• Video wall configurations can be saved and stored locally on the mobile device if you have multiple configurations to manage and control your digital signage solution.

Use with ST12MHDLAN to extend HDMI Over IP to additional displays. The ST12MHDLANRX HDMI over IP Receiver works with the ST12MHDLAN HDMI over IP Extender Kit to extend the HDMI audio/video signal to an additional display or projector through a Gigabit LAN Network for a Point-to-Multi Point installation. Up to 100 additional Receivers can be added to a single Network, allowing for a highly scalable installation.

In a point-to-multipoint configuration, the ST12MHDLAN and ST12MHDLANRX (sold separately) can be connected through an unmanaged or managed Gigabit LAN portal to span the entire distance of your network, allowing you to connect one source (transmitter) to multiple displays (receivers) over IP. When used with a managed Gigabit Ethernet switch (with IGMP) you can connect up to 100 displays on a local area network. For added scalability, up to 16 different ST12MHDLAN Transmitter units can be added to a single network (IGMP / Managed Network Switch required) with up to 100 displays in total.

Each ST12MHDLANRX Receiver includes optional mounting hardware for a professional and tidy installation. Plus, because the extender uses standard non-proprietary Cat5e/Cat6 Ethernet cable with RJ45 connectors, it eliminates both the expense and hassle of running specialized cables.

Ideal for High-Definition applications, the Receiver supports 1080p video resolutions, stereo audio and features EDID Copy, which ensures native resolution and maximum compatibility with your display or projector, for a convenient plug-and-play installation.

Please Note: If using more than 1 Transmitter or more than 4 Receivers an IGMP/Managed Network Switch is recommended for optimal performance. Non-managed network switches may also limit the performance of other devices connected to the same network.
