Description
IronKey Personal is a revolutionary personal security device designed to protect your data, passwords and online identity on any computer. All data stored on an IronKey Personal drive is encrypted with high-speed military-grade hardware encryption. Unlike software-based encryption, this "always-on" protection cannot be disabled and is protected against cold-boot and brute force attacks. No one can access files stored on an IronKey unless they authenticate with the correct password. All encryption and password verification are performed in hardware, and it cannot be disabled by worms, viruses or other malware. D250 drives balance performance and value for users who don’t require constant access to data. The same great security as the S250, the D250 has dual-channel MLC flash memory for reliable read/write performance. Shielded in a solid, tamper-resistant and waterproof metal casing that surrounds specially sealed internal components, IronKey drives are built to survive years of wear and tear. Each IronKey drive is pre-configured with a client-side secure digital certificate, which can be used for strong authentication (VeriSign Identity Protection service) to participating websites. IronKey also provides a PKCS #11 interface which will allow any Windows application to potentially use the certificate.

Built to be a secure flash drive
Designed specifically for enterprise, government and military customers that need high performance and reliability in their USB flash storage devices, IronKey Basic D250 flash drive meets the extreme performance and security requirements of some very demanding organizations. It is equipped with strong hardware encryption. A ruggedized, waterproof metal chassis helps protect D250 drive from the elements, and active anti-malware prevents USB threats from spreading. -
Faster performance, longer life
The IronKey Basic D250 features dual-channel memory and reads files at up to 29 mg/sec. -
Safer, hardware-based encryption
Flash storage drives that rely on software to enable encryption keys are vulnerable to cold-boot and malware attacks because they export AES encryption keys to the host PC. IronKey drive instead uses the IronKey Cryptochip, a proven hardware-based solution that keeps key management on the IronKey drive and off the host PC. After user plug in an IronKey Basic D250 drive, they must first authenticate with a password. Only then does IronKey's Cryptochip enable the encryption keys that unlock data and applications. -
Designed to foil malware and thieves
IronKey's hardware-based encryption and password verification can't be disabled by malware or a careless user. Self-defending IronKey drive also provides active protections against the spread of worms, crimeware and other malicious code. And if a thief enters 10 incorrect passwords in an attempt to break into the drive, the Cryptochip will securely erase all encrypted data. -
Protection that never sleeps
Unlike software-based encryption, IronKey's AES 256- bit hardware encryption is always on and can't be disabled. And with the IronKey Cryptochip handling encryption, PC performance doesn't suffer. -
Built to last
Shielded in a solid, tamper-resistant and waterproof metal casing, IronKey drive is built to survive long time of wear and tear.
