A movement sensor can be fixed to the walls in main thoroughfare areas of the property. These can be programmed to send an alert to the monitoring centre if they do not detect movement in the property. If the user is going out, or away, then pressing the `away' button on the CareUnity transforms the system to look for activity - providing the user with a basic intruder alarm.
