Description
The Belkin SOHO Desktop KVM Switch lets you share a monitor, keyboard, and mouse with up to four computers, saving space on your desk and reducing equipment clutter. The sleek, new design incorporates a built-in USB 2.0 2-port hub with one of the ports conveniently located on the front. This is perfect for connecting an MP3 player, printer, scanner, or any of your USB devices to the KVM Switch while allowing your connected computers to access them. Sensitive push buttons on the front allow for easy switching, and independent audio-switching means you can play music from one computer while accessing files from another.

BEEPing Nuisance – Belkin BEEP Efin BEEP
Reviewed by Stephen. Review Posted 11/02/2009
The switch works well and looks quite good but each time you switch device the unit makes a very loud BEEP – remember it supports up to four devices, so potentially lots of BEEP BEEPing.
The firmware in the unit can NOT be configured to reduce the volume of the BEEP – or more ideally disable the BEEP.
FYI – the BEEP sounds just like the low battery warning on a smoke alarm. Alarming, BEEP.
I’ve mailed BEEPing Belkin twice and received only standard (helpdesktard-style) responses explaining that the unit is “designed to BEEP” and not designed to allow the BEEP to be disabled. I did ask if there was some backdoor-type config option but they couldn’t be bothered to find out/respond.
BEEPing Belkin now has a dissatisfied customer with an invalid warranty on their KVM unit – I’ve disabled the BEEP by good old fashioned physical intervention. BEEEEEEEEEP
