QNAP Thunderbolt 3 NAS helps you save time yet accomplish more
Designed to meet the storage needs of media creators and creative professionals, QNAP Thunderbolt 3 NAS features ultra-high transfer speeds with expandable data storage to tackle today's challenges in fast-paced multi-workstation environments. The newly-added SMB protocol in Apple Final Cut Pro X 10.3 makes collaboration between Mac and Windows users faster and simpler, greatly increasing productivity. -
Ultra-high speed transfer
QNAP NAS with Thunderbolt 3 provides blazing-fast bandwidth (double the transfer speed of the previous generation) and enables an unprecedented high-speed connection with Thunderbolt 3 devices. QNAP Thunderbolt 3 NAS is also backward compatible with USB 3.1 storage, increasing its workability with non-Thunderbolt USB devices. -
High availability with USB Type-C
The usage of USB Type-C by Thunderbolt 3 provides a universal connection from QNAP NAS to Thunderbolt devices as well as countless USB Type-C devices through a single cable, allowing file sharing and centralized data storage without the hassle of stringing multiple cables. The reversible Type-C connector makes it even simpler to connect external storage devices to NAS. -
Thunderbolt 3 certified cable
Next-generation Thunderbolt 3 delivers bi-directional 20 Gbps speed. Use a certified Thunderbolt 3 40Gbps cable (with the Thunderbolt icon and "3") and an SLC/MLC SSD RAID5 configuration to enjoy the highest possible performance and the best storage allocation for your NAS. -
Boosted productivity with smooth workflows
By supporting the SMB protocol, Final Cut Pro X 10.3 allows users to create a library on a NAS volume and use it as if it were on a local storage device. This simple-yet-important change allows users of Final Cut Pro X 10.3 (Mac users) and users of Adobe Premiere Pro (Windows users) to centrally store their video materials in the same shared folder on the NAS, greatly improves productivity for highly-collaborative projects in multi-workstation environments. -
Collaborative video editing
Simultaneous online editing by multiple users is made possible as the SMB protocol on QNAP NAS runs faster and more stable than the NFS protocol used in previous versions. Multiple Final Cut Pro users can edit different events and projects for the same media files simultaneously and combine each piece later to speed up the editing process, making it especially ideal for fast-moving media environments. Collaboration is also highly simplified now that Mac and Windows users can share files through SMB networks for separate steps of production work. -
Thunderbolt to Ethernet (T2E) converter
As Apple computers do not natively support 10 Gigabit Ethernet, Mac users previously needed to purchase a Thunderbolt-to-Ethernet adapter to connect to high-speed 10GbE networks. The innovative T2E Converter bridges Thunderbolt and Ethernet networks, allowing Thunderbolt-enabled computers to connect to these networks via their Thunderbolt connection to the QNAP Thunderbolt NAS. This saves a 10GbE port and eliminates the need for Thunderbolt-to-Ethernet adapters. -
Qfinder Pro enables quick access to NAS
QNAP Qfinder Pro allows users to quickly find and easily access the QNAP NAS that are located on the same LAN. You can mount your NAS through Qfinder Pro for direct access to specific shared folders. You can also configure basic Thunderbolt to Ethernet (T2E) settings with Qfinder Pro to make the most of available network resources. Qfinder Pro makes setup a one-time effort by memorizing your connection information, so you don't need to repeat the set-up process. -
Expandable storage for massive 4K files
4K files can easily take up storage space very quickly. QNAP Thunderbolt expansion enclosures allow you to easily increase storage space to accommodate a large amount of high-resolution files.
