The 2big Quadra delivers impressive data transfer rates via eSATA 3Gbps and FireWire 800, with FireWire 400 and USB 2.0 connectivity for universal connectivity with Macintosh and PC systems. As it is a complete solution with two drive bays, four RAID modes are available to customize speed and protection. The sophisticated data backup software included in the scope of delivery enables system recovery at any time.

  The LaCie 2big Quadra has a native controller that conserves computer resources. It therefore achieves a large storage capacity with RAID 0 and the impressive speed via eSATA 3 Gbps. Thanks to this performance, the device is ideal for professional use in the creative sector with applications that require high data transfer speeds, such as 3D image editing software or audio/video post-production with multiple SD and HD streams. FireWire devices or iLink DV cameras can also be cascaded via FireWire.

• Customizable RAID protection

  With four RAID modes, speed and protection levels on the LaCie 2big Quadra can be quickly and easily customized. RAID 1 provides complete data security for archiving and backup, while the use of hot-swap disks means that data can always be accessed, even during maintenance. A practical mixed mode allows creative professionals to use a RAID 0 partition for working with everyday data, and a RAID 1 partition for backing up and protecting important data. Additional replacement hard disks are available for immediate replacement.

• Versatile and space-saving

  Designed by Neil Poulton, the LaCie 2big Quadra is equipped with a robust aluminum housing. It can be easily integrated into any Mac or PC environment. Thanks to the wide range of installation options - e.g. vertical, horizontal, stacked or in a rack - the device can be used in a very space-saving manner. Linking is possible via the FireWire bus so that fewer cables need to be connected to the computer. In combination with other hard disks, this gives you almost unlimited storage capacity.

• Reliable cooling and energy savings

  The LaCie 2Big Quadra's sturdy aluminum heatsink has 60 percent more surface area to naturally dissipate heat away from internal components, keeping them cool and protected. The three-stage power management can be controlled via a switch: "Auto" for energy efficiency, "On" for immediate access and "Off" for data security.
