The ScanSnap iX500 for PC and Mac environments scans at up to 25 pages per minute or 50 images per minute in color, grayscale, or black & white at an impressive 300 dpi resolution. Stack up to 50 pages into the automatic document feeder (ADF) and press the "SCAN" button to scan both sides of each page in a single pass. The iX500 will automatically detect and scan in black and white or color, will recognize the size of each document and scan accordingly, will detect and correct for skew, will show images in their proper orientation with blank pages removed and will also reduce bleed through. All these intuitive functions help ensure that the first scan is the best scan and minimize operator involvement.

The iX500 comes with an inbuilt dual core CPU that enhances scanning performance even further. This 'GI' processor' allows for scanning via WiFi to your PC or Mac, tablet or mobile device without the need for a host computer. It maintains the quoted scanning speeds even if the target device suffers from low memory or poor connectivity and with USB 3.0 support as standard you get a performance that you'd expect from a high speed, high volume device. Additionally creating searchable pdf's is further enhanced through this new engine.

Scan your everyday documents from business card to A3 size (A3 possible with the use of the bundled carrier sheet) and then view, file, edit or distribute your digitized data.

ScanSnap iX500 is equipped with a multi-feed detection sensor that can be turned on to help you avoid losing images. What's more, an interactive interface allows users to easily and quickly bypass intentional double-feeds such as a taped-receipt on an expense report or even a sticky note.

Inheriting the paper feeding technology that has been a feature of the award winning and market leading "fi Series" scanners, the iX500 incorporates a document separation method that uses "brake rollers". Additionally using ultrasonic sensors that continuously check for double feeds and check for and easily bypass intentional double-feeds such as a taped receipt on an expense report or sticky note the iX500 ensures that you can scan quickly and reliable with the upmost confidence.

The ScanSnap iX500 in addition to being able to wirelessly scan to a PC or Mac also supports wireless scanning to mobiles and tablets including iOS, Android and Kindle devices. In conjunction with the ScanSnap Connect Application users can initiate the scanning process from the scanner or mobile device to enjoy greater flexibility in accessing and distributing their documents.

The iX500 can link to cloud services Dropbox, Evernote, Google Docs, Salesforce CRM and SharePoint Online (for Windows). It also brings some additional cloud syncing functions: Scan to SugarSync and Scan to Salesforce Chatter as well as ScanSnap folder for Win OS only where you can scan into your preferred cloud service when no scan interface is available through the import capability.

With the bundled ScanSnap Sync built into ScanSnap Organizer software and the ScanSnap Connect app, captured documents can be automatically synchronized with all your devices through Dropbox, Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive.

The bundled ScanSnap Receipt software allows you to easily scan and extract information from your receipts, and even export the data for tax filing.
