Description
The Secure Audio and Microphone Switch can be used to reduce security risks caused by the vulnerabilities of analog signals in a digital environment by reducing the number of exposed microphones that can be exploited by malicious software attacks; reducing security risks caused by user errors when multiple headsets/microphones are preset; eliminating the microphone-switching function from the KVM to isolate it from the USB and PS2 signals; incorporating an external microphone mute button to shut off the microphone when the Switch is not in use or while handling calls where the microphone is not required; preventing the system's mute switch from being manipulated by software or driver with a hardware mute switch.
-
Audio and microphone switching
The switch supports both stereo audio and microphone analog signals. Analog signals are passed through. This allows you to share headsets, speakers, and microphones between computers or IP phones. -
Dedicated boards
The switch features a dedicated printed circuit board for audio and microphone signals. This keeps the audio signals physically separated from the microphone signals to reduce the possibility of leakage between both signals. -
Hardware microphone mute button
The switch incorporates a hardware microphone mute button to shut off the microphone when the switch is not in use or while handling calls where the microphone is not required. The mute switch cannot be manipulated by software or driver. -
No memory buffer
Unlike solid-state audio multiplexers, the switch relies on highquality mechanical relays, does not have a memory buffer, and does not have the ability to store data. This prevents signals from being unintentionally transferred as you switch between computers, ensuring the integrity of your signal. -
Non-reprogrammable firmware
The switch features custom firmware that is not reprogrammable, preventing the ability to tamper with the switch logic. -
Metal-plate firewall
A metal firewall is placed between the audio and microphone PCBs (printed circuit boards) to reduce the potential of EMI (electromagnetic interference) leakage. -
Tamper-evident tape
A holographic security tamper-evident label is placed on the enclosure to provide a visual indication if the switch has been opened or compromised. -
Port coloring
The included color chips can be inserted into each port-selector button. Colors can be associated with an established network to facilitate port identification and reduce user switching error. -
Secure packaging
"Tear away" packaging ensures secure delivery of the switch as it is routed to the end user.
