How to receive delivery updates via SMS

In brief:
  • Enter your mobile number when prompted on the order confirmation screen at the checkout
  • If you are out when your order is delivered you will receive a text which gives you details of how to rearrange delivery
  • Rearrange re-delivery with your Yodel courier, see below for more information on the service

We know that getting your goods delivered smoothly and first time is difficult. However there are ways to make things easier and thanks to our new SMS text service in conjunction with Yodel they can let you know that they attempted to make a delivery but you weren't available at the time.

If your delivery is unsuccessful you will receive the normal 'sorry we missed you' card through your letter box but if you wish, you can also receive an SMS message from Yodel which also confirms this whilst also giving you all the information you need to allow you to re-arrange delivery more quickly.

The message contains details of your order reference and courier details so you can contact the courier and rearrange a re-delivery quickly. Chances are that the courier is still delivering in your area so all in all it is a very useful service.

Depending on your postcode you will receive one of two messages:

If your business is on an industrial estate for example you will receive a text to let you know they've just called and left a card. The text will contain a website, your Parcel Number and a Service Centre code (SC code) which you can enter on the website along with your delivery postcode in order to rearrange delivery.

If your business is predominantly in a residential area, you will receive a text to let you know that they've just called and left a card. They'll also give you their mobile number and your Parcel Number so that you can rearrange delivery.

How do I sign up?

To receive order confirmation and shipment notifications by SMS when you place your order online, you need to enter your mobile phone number when prompted on the order confirmation screen at the checkout on our site. You won't be charged for receiving the text.
