The region’s top business owners and leaders have today been revealed as finalists in the Institute of Directors’ 2016 North West Director of the Year Awards. Industrially diverse, the finalists cover sectors including digital and creative, pharmaceutical, property, retail and social enterprise.
We’re really excited that our very own CEO, Helen Slinger has made it through to the finals in the Young Director of the Year category, in recognition of her transformational leadership at BT Business Direct and BT Shop.
“Our shortlist represents some of the most innovative and inspiring leaders the region has to offer. It’s always interesting to see what the finalists are doing differently to stand out in their fields and yet again this year we have some fantastic examples of success.”
Rachel Smith, NW Regional Director at the Institute of Directors.
Helen has worked her way up from her first administrative role in the IT industry, to become the leader of a 200-strong team in a business with sustainable growth and development. Now aged 42, she’s gained a wealth of knowledge and experience, working in multiple disciplines including customer services, sales, product management and marketing.
As CEO today, Helen leads the Senior Leadership Team at the business and also sits on BT’s North West Regional Board which aims to put BT at the heart of the local communities it serves.
Congratulations Helen, on this outstanding achievement! We will wait eagerly to find out the winner, which will be revealed on the 25th February 2016 at the Hilton Hotel, Deansgate, Manchester.
