Changes to Microsoft’s Education Pricing

As you may know, Microsoft are currently in the process of amending their education pricing as part of the UK Education Cloud Transition Agreement. The process started in January of this year and will continue into July, 2018. The most recent stage of changes came into effect July 1st, 2016.

Microsoft have told us about the pricing changes they’re putting in place. Microsoft has shared that new customer pricing will increase by roughly 17-18%, and renewal customer pricing will slightly increase so it matches the current new customer pricing.

OVS-ES License

The Open Value Subscription Education Solutions (OVS-ES) licensing program now creates two customer statuses – “new” and “renewal” – and will provide separate pricing levels based on the customers’ status. Before, customers were able to choose either “New” (Level E) or “Renewal” (Level F) pricing based upon their full time equivalent employee (FTE) count.
