Make a suggestion and you could win a Logitech Squeezebox radio!
We’re in a pretty good mood here at BT Business Direct as we’ve just reached our 1000th Twitter follower on @BTBizDirect! To celebrate this exciting news we want to give a little something back to our growing online community in the form of a brand new Logitech Squeezebox radio.
The Squeezebox lets you play music from your digital collection via a wireless connection so you can play your favourite tunes or listen to your preferred radio station in your kitchen, bedroom or home office…
To win this great prize, we’re simply looking for your feedback on our blog: what do you like about it? What type of content would you like to see on there? What could we improve on? Which blogs could we learn from in the tech and business world? Any constructive criticism is welcome so feel free to get creative.
Once you’ve had a look at the site, just leave your thoughts in the comment box below. The winner will be the person who gives us the most constructive piece of advice on how we can improve.
We’ll be closing the competition on the 22nd of June and announcing the winner on the 24th June. Happy commenting!

A Sonos woule be better
Remove the tag “BT Business Direct” from every post, we know what site we are on and it makes your tag cloud look egotistical
Liking the site though, I must spend more time here.
I think you need some categories, so that people can search on, say, technology, or marketing, or HR, etc..
You could also do with a direct link of your post into Twitter.
Regarding content, it depends upon who your target audience is. There are already lots of good sites for small business (I like Business Link and Start Up Donut), so i guess it’s just providing the depth of comment that will cater for most possible visitors. Perhaps identify the contributors, and have guest bloggers?
Incidentally, I couldn’t see the comments on ‘Start up advice, where to look online’.
I enjoy reading the blog. Great use of WordPress.
I’d like to see more in-depth technical articles.. ‘How To….’
Also more articles about products, with reviews and suggestions on when / where to use them.
Another suggestion would be to offer discount codes in articles on the Blog.
Thanks
Archive by item title, categories (as suggested above), RSS feed for the whole lot as well as each section. The cartoon people are horrible, makes the site look like a lego playground
Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t the main focus of BT Business Direct the supply of technology products and services related to them? Most of what I see on the blog could easily have been copied and pasted from any random website. My suggestion is to bring people more information that relates to the products and services offered. Putting the special offers on there (as well as twitter) may draw people in too.
I have number of suggestions for your consideration;
Please can you get rid of the Lego artwork, I trust you are appealing to the business consumer not small children.
Keep the Business Direct title in you emails as I, like many others am more likely to use the site rather than being concern this site is just another BT reseller.
Consider showing your competitors prices (or the best next price) next to your prices and save us the hassle of comparing your prices elsewhere. This will demonstrate 2 things; 1 that you really have a focus on value for us in business, 2, will ensure when you obtain your whole prices that you are more focused in making the most of your brand strength and economies of scale.
Under the Clearance section can we please have a choice to view by brand (saves time)
As a one man business (with limited IT expertise in house!) I use this blog all the time when issues arise. The biggest problem I find is keeping up – I am often out of the office in the field for 2-3 weeks and when I get back the mountain of stuff to clear means I am overwhelmed and I miss a lot. It would be nice to have a simple way of just getting highlights which was accessible even with dodgy internet availability.
an iPhone app would make keeping up with the postings a whole lot easier. or at the very least, optimise the blog for viewing on an iPhone/mobile device, there are plugins for common blog engines to do this for you.
Think of your marketing personas and write content directly for them. How can you help with remarkable content for their frustrations, challenges and concerns.
Don’t tell news on your site – tell stories, have an opinion, engage. Remeber the blog is not for you, it’s for the reader. So write for the reader
