Review: Ricoh Aficio SP 300DN Mono Printer
Out of all of the other elements of a business’ IT systems, the humble printer is often the most neglected. Too often a business will choose the cheapest model it can find, not realising that in the long run this can be the more expensive option. The right printer for a business can help it save money, both in terms of consumables and on-going running costs. However, finding the right printer can be a difficult task with so many printers out there. We’ve talked about some great low cost multi-function printers before, such as the Epson Workforce Pro range, but for many smaller businesses, these types of printers aren’t always suitable. Often, all that is needed is a reliable, black and white printer that will do what is expected, at a low cost and with minimal maintenance.
That’s why we want to show you the Ricoh Aficio™SP 300DN. The majority of printing that a small business does is black and white documents such as bills and letters. While the option of colour may seem a necessity, colour printers are more expensive, and often will be unnecessary for the needs of a smaller business or home office. Of course, that’s not to say that a black and white printer should be lacking functionality in other areas. The Ricoh Aficio SP 300DN features full duplex, helping to cut down on the amount of paper used, while also featuring network connectivity, allowing the printer to be used by everyone connecting to your internal network. All of this would be let down by slow print speeds, but the Ricoh can cope with busy office environments by printing up to 28 pages a minute. In addition, while space is a premium for most small businesses, this printer can fit in most space, thanks to a small and compact footprint.
We’ve got even more information on the Ricoh Aficio SP 300DN over on our website, and we’re sure that if you just need a small, reliable, low cost printer, then it will be exactly what you’re looking for. It’s a nice printer, but I think the Mono Laser is going to go the way of the mono Inkjet very soon.
Colour Lasers are not that much more money and you also sell one that is cheaper than this printer.
The big advantage a colour laser has over the mono is the Colour. Small businesses may not want to pay out for a print comapny to get signs and posters done. In this way a Colour Laser is by far the better option.
