A sneak preview of the world’s first 27″ screen all-in-one workstation
Do you find that traditional PCs are impractical in a compacted office environment, but you’re not prepared to switch to a smaller machine or laptop? If you answered ‘yes’, the chances are you’ll be anticipating the upcoming release from HP of their Z1, the world’s first all-in-one workstation with a 27” display.
The Z1 grew out of HP’s observation of the ever-decreasing desk size of the average employee – while offices get bigger so too does the number of employees, and the old days of a separate monitor and computer are becoming less practical. With its latest workstation, the Z1, HP has created its most efficient and sleek-looking workstation yet.
Here’s a run-down of the major selling points of the HP Z1:
- It’s easy to upgrade individual components – simply open the hood and switch out the pieces that need upgrading. The shock-absorbing close mechanism keeps the components safe from accidental rough handling.
- It’s quieter than many computers – heat sensors inside the machine detect when the cooling fans are needed to minimise noise disruption.
- It’s high performance – with quad-core Intel Xeon processors and ECC memory, and a NVIDIA Quadro graphics card, it’s the perfect machine for creative projects, as well as boasting a 27” LED backlit screen with a 178 degree viewing angle.
- It’s got great connectivity options and built-in features, including a USB 3.0 and media card reader, a customisable optical drive, and a high definition webcam with a front microphone array.

So what’s the benefit of using this rather than the 27″ iMac/OSX and Windows 7 I’ve been using for 2 years?
Your right paul. Diversity and choice is a bad thing…… Sorry got that the wrong way round. How about apple os’s are seriously insecure and they lie about this continually. How about i dont want to be tied into apples eco system for the rest of my life. No paul your right. Theres no need for any other company to make any thing. All hail apple all hail steve jobs.
i have one of those in my slap top and i can tell you that is better than a new laptop and its 4 years old

You’ll be using a machine made by people who arent out for the soul of your first born child
And it dosent have that tacky plastic look or feel to it that all apple devices come with in spades
