Microsoft has made an important announcement regarding Europe-wide changes to Microsoft's pricing policies for its volume licensing programmes which affects all volume licensing agreements within the EU and EFTA area.
Due to sustained currency differences in the EU/EFTA region, some EU countries where Microsoft operates will see changes to non-Euro pricing as they establish greater price consistency across Europe.
In the UK, based on prevailing currency rates, Microsoft anticipate some adjustment in British Pound prices for software licenses sold through their volume licensing programmes from 1st July 2012.
The exact extent of any price changes in July will be determined by future exchange rates between the British Pound and Euro, we expect to be advised by Microsoft on 1st May of exact changes, however analysis of current European and UK pricing indicates an uplift in UK pricing of 20% on some products.
The pricing changes affect volume licensing programs only.
FPP and Academic Programs are not currently expected to be impacted.
Existing annuity contract holders including Enterprise, Enterprise Subscription, Enrolment for Application Platform, Enrolment for Core Infrastructure and Open Value Subscription customers have price protection on previously ordered products and will not experience a price change during the term of their agreement. Any new product additions will be priced at current pricelist price.
